Earth Day
Cody leads Moseley Park into a greener way of thinking
This week Year 8 Excellence Academy student Cody Cook spoke to students in assembly about Earth Day and the importance of tackling climate change.
Earth Day is an annual celebration that honours the achievements of the environmental movement and aims to raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations, in the hope that we won’t have to apologise to our future generations.
Alongside providing students with top tips on how to save the planet, Cody also linked the importance of Earth Day to our British Values with that of Respect and Tolerance. As Cody said,
“We all agree that, to get respect, we must give it, therefore not only should we respect each other, we need to respect the Earth. The better we look after the Earth, the longer we will have it! By following my top tips, the resources that the Earth gives us, will remain healthy! The Earth provides us with food, water and a home! This is the same for animals too. By respecting the Earth, we can help keep ourselves surrounded by plants and animals for as long as possible!”
