Our Excellence Academy become First Aid Aware
On Friday 17th February, members of our KS3 Excellence Academy participated in a First Aid Awareness course. Learning first aid is an invaluable life-skill. It helps young people become more risk aware and equips them with skills to keep themselves and others safe if involved in a medical emergency. It could save their life.
Students have developed their knowledge of how to respond to: bleeding, choking, resuscitation and the correct way to use a defibrillator, amongst a number of other aspects of first aid.
Throughout the session, students had the opportunity to practice CPR and resuscitation on human manikins.
A big thank you to Mrs Morris for her fantastic support with this event.
