Voting Local Elections
Voting Day 2023
You may be aware that the law has changed so that you need to have an acceptable form of photographic ID in order to vote at a polling station in any election like the Local Elections to be held in Wolverhampton in May this year. If you are concerned about whether or not you have the correct documents, two other options are available to you.
Firstly, you can apply to the government for a Photo ID Form to enable you to vote. We’ve linked to the government website in the list below.
A little more simply, you can request a postal vote as an alternative. You need to fill in a simple form and send it to the Council, and there is no fee.
There is information about acceptable forms of photo identification to see if you’re already covered here
You can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (the alternative photo ID) here
The government’s page about requesting a postal vote is here – Or you can simply download the form to request a postal vote here
