Young Scientist Elliot Shares Passion For A Microscopic World
A talented young scientist helped his class extend their understanding of the natural world after bringing in his own microscope into lessons.
Elliot Pennington, who is in Year 10, was inspired to bring his gear to school following lessons on microscopy.
He was in bright and early on the last day of term with all of his scientific equipment, proudly showing it off to his friends and staff.
During lesson students were looking at their own cheek cells using microscopes and Elliot set up his equipment so they could also look at the cells and structures of other things such as snakeskin and the leaves of a ficus elastica – commonly known as a rubber plant.
Miss Newbold, who led the lesson, said: “Elliot’s dedication, hard work and passion for Science is truly inspiring.”
