Year 8 Pupils Explore Careers in Construction with BWB Consulting Workshop 

Today, all Year 8 pupils at Moseley Park had the exciting opportunity to take part in a hands-on workshop delivered by BWB Consulting, a leading firm based in Birmingham. The session began with an inspiring introduction from Olivia, Kaylie, and Ray, who shared insights into their current roles and career journeys within the industry. 

Following the talk, pupils stepped into the shoes of architects and builders through a series of engaging activities. Working in teams, they first designed bridge plans that were then passed to another group to construct—testing their communication and problem-solving skills. Next, pupils became construction engineers, using everyday materials such as paper, pasta, straws, and tape to build bridges strong enough to transport model lorries between two tables. 

The workshop was a fantastic way for students to learn about the diverse careers available in construction while developing creativity, teamwork, and resilience.
