Pharmacy Professionals Inspire Students at Moseley Park Academy

Moseley Park Academy recently welcomed four inspiring guest speakers—Winnie Sabi, Ganiat Efunkunle, Sacha Okure, and Fleur Mazire—who shared their personal journeys into the world of pharmacy. Each speaker offered a unique perspective on why they chose pharmacy over the demanding 12-hour shifts often associated with careers in medicine.

The session highlighted the flexibility and diversity within the pharmacy profession. Students learned about the subjects required to pursue pharmacy, the structure of MPharm courses, and the wide range of career paths available, including roles as GP pharmacists, hospital pharmacists, and positions within the pharmaceutical industry.

The speakers also emphasized the importance of work experience, explaining how placements in community pharmacies, hospitals, and healthcare settings can provide valuable insight into the profession. They discussed what is covered during the MPharm degree—from clinical skills and patient care to pharmaceutical science and research—giving students a clear picture of what to expect.

Moseley Park Academy extends its heartfelt thanks to Winnie Sabi, Ganiat Efunkunle, Sacha Okure, and Fleur Mazire for their time, expertise, and encouragement. Their guidance has undoubtedly inspired many students to consider pharmacy as a rewarding and impactful career.

I just wanted to let you know I loved meeting the pharmacy students and being able to hear about their experiences in pharmacy and with A levels too. It was so helpful to speak to people actively working towards a similar career to one I aspire to work in as well. They were so approachable and answered all my questions and it made me feel so much more confident about the A Levels I have picked. Thank you for arranging it and thank you to them for taking the time to come speak to us about the opportunities available.
