Art Visit Is A Picture Of Success

Students from a range of years had the chance to explore options for further study as they visited the University of Wolverhampton to see a range of work by current undergraduates.

Art staff took 45 youngsters from Years 9, 10 and 12 of the School of Art End of Year Show last week.

Pupils were able to see work from a range of different disciplines as well as hear from lecturers and current university students. They looked at graphics and illustration, fashion and textiles, ceramics and glass, photography, product and interior design, animation and games design, plus fine art and sculpture.

Mrs Holland-Bright said: “It was an exciting opportunity to see a broad range of avenues for developing Art and Design study after secondary school. It gave students a first-hand insight into careers in the creative industries and further education courses in Art and Design.

“Many have already started to plan future work inspired by what they have seen.”
