Broadway Beckons For Superstar Abbie

A talented Year 8 student is preparing to step into the spotlight as she takes a leading role during a Broadway show this summer.

Abbie Tobin will be heading to New York at the end of the month to perform in the bright lights of the most famous theatre district in the world.

She will be playing Alice as her dance school performs sections of Alice in Wonderland. The special performance features dance companies from all over Britain who have been invited to showcase their talents on July 26.

It will mark the biggest show to date for Abbie, who has been dancing since she was three years old. The multi-talented youngster also acts and made her debut at Moseley Park taking the lead in the school production of Annie when she was just 11. She currently dances with Willenhall-based Classic Academy of Dance.

Abbie said she would be heading out to America for five days as soon as school finishes for the summer.

“It’s very exciting. I was delighted to get the part of Alice, but it’s also a bit nerve-wracking – I’ve never danced in front of so many people before,” she added. “I can’t wait to see New York and Broadway. It’s going to be a brilliant experience.”
