Dancing Queen Ruby Freestyles Her Way To Blackpool
A talented young dancer has proved she has what it takes to compete with the best in the world after reaching the last 30 in an international freestyle competition.
Ruby Kelly, who is in Year 7, travelled to the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom for the DKKQ contest – which took place from November 30 to December 3.
It is hosted every year for elite dancers within freestyle to compete to be crowned Disco King or Disco Queen.
Ruby competed in the under-12 section against dancers from across the world, including Norway, South Africa, Russia, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
More than one hundred dancers took part in the competition and Ruby made it to the last thirty, being knocked out just before the quarter finals.
Miss Kibble, who is Ruby’s form tutor, said: “This is a big achievement and we’re really proud of Ruby.”
