Global Tunes And Sign Language As Students Mark World Music Day
Tunes from across the world filled the air as students showcased their talents in a celebration of global music.
Students from the brass group, steel pan band, choir and pop band performed a range of musical styles for staff and pupils at Green Park School.
The concert formed part of Green Park’s World Music Day celebrations and Moseley Park students were invited to go along and perform.
Mrs Russell, who took the students to the Green Park Avenue school for the concert, said: “The morning was a huge success and pupils performed with such style and confidence.
“Hannah Parkes, in Year 10, even included sign language for one of the choir songs – which was very impressive. As well as the group performances, some pupils also performed solos and duets too. Everybody loved the event and we aim to return next year.”
Rehearsals are also well-underway for music events for the rest of the term, with Moseley Park’s Got Talent taking place on Tuesday (July 17) and members of the choir and selected musicians heading to The Sycamores care home on Wednesday (July 18) to entertain staff and residents.
