Poem
A Poem by Zenani Phakathi 7MZ
I am a Salem Witch forced from her home
Shoved into a new world, I am all alone
Everything I have ever known is now a distant memory
I take the form of an ancient man to ward the evil away from me
In this body, everything is quite different
Before, I was weak and small
Now, I am powerful, magnificent
An endless greenery I walk through
My life, now in my own hands
The soft ones that once held it
Were killed by women and men
The bitter taste of fear and hate sit upon my tongue
My towering staff and pointed hat hide all my grey
I’ll have to travel far and wide
Near and far, this is true
But one thing that must remain
Is that I am a Salem Witch through and through!
