Year 8 Enjoy a Wild Day of Learning at Wild Zoo

Year 8 pupils from Moseley Park School had a fantastic and unforgettable experience yesterday during an educational visit to Wild Zoo.

The day offered pupils a unique opportunity to get up close with a variety of animals. Pupils enthusiastically took part in feeding sessions with lemurs and parrots and enjoyed a hands-on experience with wallabies, giving them a real insight into animal care and behaviour.

As well as the interactive animal encounters, pupils attended engaging lectures on ecology and palaeontology, which were closely linked to their Key Stage 3 Science curriculum. These sessions also highlighted a range of career pathways, helping pupils to understand how science can lead to future opportunities in zoology, conservation, research and related fields.

One of the highlights of the day was a thrilling dinosaurs show, where pupils came face-to-face with a lifelike velociraptor, bringing learning about prehistoric life vividly to life.

The visit not only strengthened classroom learning in science but also supported the school’s careers programme, exposing pupils to real-world workplaces and inspiring them to think about future careers in science and conservation.

It was a highly enjoyable and educational day that pupils will remember for a long time.
